Before operating any gas equipment, checking connection points for micro-leaks is a mandatory safety routine. Never use an open flame or lighter to test for gas leaks.
Step-by-Step Leak Test:
- Prepare the Solution: Mix water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid or use a certified leak detection spray (Lecksuchspray).
- Apply to Joints: Apply the soapy liquid to the cylinder valve, pressure regulator connection, and hose fittings.
- Turn on the Valve: Slowly open the cylinder valve without igniting the appliance.
- Observe: If bubbles grow, there is a leak. Turn off the valve immediately, tighten the fittings or replace worn seals/hoses, and test again.
